With its Mediterranean atmosphere, extraordinary beauty and equally remarkable history and architecture, a tour to Croatia opens up one of Europe's best-kept secrets. It is a veritable crossroads of Western and Eastern influences thanks to its geographical position.
Croatia has a rich history, and your tour of Croatia will reflect the very best of this proud country's fascinating past and idyllic natural wonders. There are no fewer than seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Croatia. Our Walking Tour of Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Coast is a great way to experience the beautiful landscape of this inspiring country. It has its own special feel and spirit of place, from colourful red and white embroidered national costumes to giant Easter eggs, sword dances, Pag cheese, alcoholic liqueurs like Maraschino and Rajika, and ubiquitous gingerbread hearts. Croatian cuisine reflects the country's diverse landscape, featuring regional specialities with a flavorful blend of Mediterranean, Central European and Balkan influences. Taste vibrant dishes made with fresh ingredients and steeped in unique traditions.
Then there are the wonderfully untouched baroque delights of Dubrovnik (the pearl of the Adriatic according to Byron), the vast palace of Emperor Diocletian in Split, and the amazing stone bridge, 16th-century mosques and Turkish houses of Mostar. Your tour of Croatia extends to nearby Montenegro with its dramatic mountain scenery, beautiful coastline and sleepy villages – a step back in time that cries out to be discovered.

Discover Tours to Croatia
Croatia is one of Europe's hidden gems, and the Dalmatian coastline will be a real highlight of your trip. Hundreds of miles of dramatic limestone cliffs and lush pine forests plunge down to the sapphire-blue waters of the Adriatic. The beautiful coastline extends from Zadar in the north to the border with Montenegro in the south. There are numerous charming islands to discover in this area – our Grand Tour of Northern Croatia is a great way to explore some of them.

Touring Croatia
The organisation of the tour was excellent. Croatia is a fascinating country full of lovely architecture, beaches and wonderful places to visit, from waterfalls, to towns with lovely waterfronts and promenades. The hotel in Omiš was a superb location and on the beach, rooms were a little on the small and dark side. The hotel in Dubrovnik was a much bigger hotel with a great pool. The food was outstanding and buffet style. The tour manager was very good and gave lots of great information. Overall, it was a great holiday and I would highly recommend it to others. – Karen

Popular FAQs
For a holiday, the short answer is no. As a British citizen, you can visit Croatia and other countries in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without needing a visa. It's always a good habit to check your passport, though. Just make sure it has enough validity for your travel dates, as the rules can be quite specific. It’s one of those little admin tasks that’s easy to put off and a real headache if you come to find your passport needs renewing close to your departure date.
From most UK airports, you’re looking at a flight time of around two and a half to three hours. It’s just about long enough to settle in with a good book or a podcast, and just as you're getting comfortable, you start your descent over that incredible, island-studded coastline. It really is one of Europe’s most convenient and rewarding escapes. You can leave home in the morning and be enjoying a glass of local Malvasia wine by the afternoon.
Croatia officially adopted the Euro at the start of 2023. You'll find card payments are accepted almost everywhere in the towns and cities, but it’s always a good idea to have a little cash with you. It will come in handy for that impromptu ice cream by the harbour or a coffee in a hidden-away square.
